Kutani Sparrow Matcha Bowl
A hand-painted Kutani ware matcha bowl (chawan) by Toujudo, crafted in the traditional Kutaniyaki style of Ishikawa Prefecture. The wide, shallow form is designed for preparing and drinking matcha, the curved walls allow the tea whisk to move freely, and the generous rim makes for comfortable two-handed holding during the tea ceremony.
Each bowl is individually decorated with the signature Kutani overglaze enamel work, in a palette that has been refined over three and a half centuries. Functional as a matcha bowl, rice bowl, or small serving vessel. Made in Japan.
